Tournament Rules

All official tournaments at OHN are run in accordance with the official OzHadou tournament rules (230kb, PDF). All competitors at OHN are expected to familiarise themselves with these rules before the competition begins.

Please note that these rules can change at any time without prior notice. It is your responsibility to make sure you are up to date with the information that is displayed here.

All tournaments will be Double Elimination, played in 16 player pools. The top 2 players from each of the pools will go into the next round until there are only 4 players remaining. Those players will then compete in the final 4 brackets on the Sunday.

The following rules apply for all official tournaments at OHN11.

BYO Controllers

For console tournaments, all competitors are required to bring their own controller when reporting for their matches.

Players can borrow controllers from other people at the event if they do not have their own controller, however if they do not arrive with a controller ready to go within 2 minutes of their match being called they will forfeit the match. Please also make an effort to familiarise yourself with your custom or in-game predefined button layout to minimise button check times.

All official console tournaments at OHN11 are run using Xbox 360 consoles, except Tekken Tag Tournament 2 which is being run on Playstation 3. For those players using control pads, you must use a connecting cable to do so. Wireless controllers are not permitted due to the potential interference it may have with neighbouring players.

Being Called for Your Match

You should already be at the tournament area if your pool is currently running. Thus, you should be able to easily hear your match being called. If you have entered in multiple tournaments or if you need to go somewhere, please let the tournament judge know beforehand. If your name has been called for a game and you do not show up, you will be given a further 3 warning calls. If you do not show up after that, you will be disqualified.

Draw Games

In the event of a draw game (i.e. both players win 2 rounds each due to a Double KO) this will count as one win each. If the draw game was also the deciding game, it will be replayed until a result is obtained.

Bracket Seeding

Ranked and regional seeding will be used to seed the brackets for all official tournaments at OHN. Ranked seeds will be based on results from regional qualifiers organised in each state. More detail on qualifier tournaments for each state will be available soon.
